Urban Sketching & Fountain Pen Day!
Join us for a special gathering that combines two of our favorite things: fountain pens and sketching!
📍 Sketching from 4-5:30. Throwdown around 5:30 PM
The Whale has some interesting things inside to sketch - even a stuffed mountain goat! There is a little bit of outdoor seating as well. Bring your sketchbook, pens, inks, and curiosity. We'd love to see you there!
📍 5:30 PM until 6 or 6:30 PM depending on time needed
We're excited to welcome Karuna, organizer of the new fountain pen group, Blue Hour Inklings, who will give a talk on fountain pen maintenance and tuning. Have a fountain pen that's skipping, hard-starting, or just not writing the way you'd like? Bring it along! Karuna will have time to tune 2–3 pens during the session.
💧 Ink lovers, this is your chance to share! If you have extra fountain pen ink you'd like to swap or allow others to sample, bring it with you. Sample vials and pipettes will be available if you don't have your own.
Free parking. The Whale is located at 2 Beverly Drive (at the corner of Beverly Drive and New Haw Creek Road). There is a large dirt parking lot on the right side on Beverly Drive shortly before The Whale.
