Take a trip around the world without leaving Redmond! The Washington Wind Symphony invites you to "Passports and Postcards," a dynamic concert celebrating landscapes, history, and folk traditions from across the globe.Our musical itinerary begins with the salty air of the British Isles in Ralph Vaughan Williams’ spirited Sea Songs, followed by a tour through the historic French provinces in Darius Milhaud’s wind band classic, Suite Française. We will explore the charm of an Irish fishing village in Ray Heraty’s evocative Echoes of Howth and delve into the dramatic, cinematic sounds of the Czech Republic with Zdenĕk Lukáš’s Musica Boema. Finally, we ascend the Andes to the ancient Incan citadel in Satoshi Yagisawa’s breathtaking Machu Picchu - City in the Sky.
