Join us for a conversation with Leela Jacinto, Senior Editor at France24 specializing in the Middle East and South Asia, as she talks about the ongoing war in Iran. Leela will help us separate fact from fiction, debunking some of the most common misconceptions about Iran, and enable us to better understand the myths and realities that are driving the current conflict in the Middle East.Leela Jacinto is an award-winning Franco-American journalist and war correspondent specialized in the Middle East and South Asia. A senior editor and commentator at FRANCE 24, Leela has reported extensively on political Islam, conflict, post-conflict reconstruction and human rights in the region. Before FRANCE 24, she worked at ABC News and New York Daily News. Her reports, essays and columns have appeared in Boston Review, Foreign Policy and The Nation. A graduate of New York University (NYU), she has also taught journalism in Afghanistan and the Middle East.
The event will be hosted by P. Kerim Friedman, a professor in the Department of Ethnic Relations and Cultures at National Dong Hwa University.
