The Engine Room, Wayfarers Arcade, Southport
Three of the North West's most respected folk and acoustic musicians come together as The Wanderers for an evening of songs, stories and outstanding musicianship.
Drawing on Americana, British folk, blues, bluegrass and acoustic roots music, The Wanderers blend rich harmonies with guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo and bass, alongside original songs and fresh takes on well-loved classics. Their performances move effortlessly from intimate ballads to lively foot-stomping tunes, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for dedicated folk fans and newcomers alike.
The trio features:
- Pete Rimmer – guitar, banjo and vocals, a veteran of the North West folk scene and resident singer at Southport's renowned Bothy Folk Club.
- Chris Nelson – fiddle, mandolin and vocals, whose playing spans English traditional music and American roots styles.
- Colin Maddocks – bass and vocals, whose career includes television appearances with Liverpool harmony group Petticoat & Vine and many years curating Grateful Fred's acclaimed Americana and Roots concerts.
Whether you love folk, Americana, acoustic blues or simply great live music, this is a perfect way to spend a Saturday evening in Southport's newest listening venue.
