The heart of the Villiers Quartet’s philosophy is to believe in the art of string quartet. They last played for Peak Music in April 2018. This evening they play Haydn, Fung, and Ravel.
Join Peak Music Society to enjoy five concerts through 2024-2025 for less than the cost of four, or individual concert tickets also available. Membership for the 2024-25 season will be available for £90 (£20 for those in full-time education) from 1st August 2024. Individual tickets for each concert may also be available to book online or on the door for some of our concerts, priced at £25 and £30. We will be serving wine and canapés after the Sunday afternoon concert in April 2025.
The Villiers Quartet has been broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 from the Leamington International Quartet Series, and on NPO Radio 4 live from the Concertgebouw. The VQ has been featured on BBC’s In Tune and also BBC One’s The Andrew Marr Show with pianist Alexis Ffrench and double bassist Leon Bosch. The VQ was the featured quartet on the score to the BBC film Lady Chatterley’s Lover.
The Villiers Quartet has presented masterclasses in the UK and abroad at Oxford University, Duke University, Dartmouth College, University of Nottingham, Syracuse University, Cal State LA, Jacksonville University, and Indiana University South Bend.
