About this Event

The Vill is a social club for cool moms in Atlanta, focused on curating elevated and intentional events for moms interested in building community and navigating motherhood together.

Babee Book Club is an amazing family growth and development studio that specializes in the social and emotional development of the entire family! It is a third space for families and individuals to come together and build community through literacy and art.

This event is best suited for kids 4+. While the kids dive into a great story, moms can sip on coffee from @bondandbrewcoffee (shoutout to one of our very own Vill moms! 💛) and connect with other moms in the community.

There are limited spots available, so if you grab a spot, please only RSVP if you can 100% make it—we want to make sure everyone who wants in gets a chance.

ABOUT:

Valerie Thompkins, author of the children’s books, ‘Girls Like Me’ and ‘Boys Like Me’ encourages children to explore STEM and other career fields from an early age. She has a background in the banking & finance industries as an IT Project Manager. Valerie self-published her first title, Girls Like Me in Summer 2021. Today, she is a speaker, consultant, and mentor who helps individuals achieve success in book marketing. She believes in highlighting stories which showcase families of all backgrounds in positive, main character roles. After relocating from Cleveland, Ohio to Atlanta in 2021, she began pursuing the mission to empower children and families to explore diverse literature and develop a healthy attitude towards reading through school visits and author appearances. To stay connected, join the social media communities on TikTok and Instagram: @authorvaleriethompkins.

Book Description:

Girls Like Me and Boys Like Me are vibrant and empowering picture books that open doors to the world of STEM for young readers. The books showcase diverse role models in science, technology, engineering, and math and inspire children to dream big. Each page introduces a new character—from a brilliant college professor, to a pilot who flies airplanes, to an adventurous astronaut who travels to outer space.

Featuring a range of characters, both books encourage readers to embrace their interests and understand that endless possibilities await those who set out to reach their goals.
