A place for honor, remembrance and reflection, The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall® (https://www.travelingwall.us/) will make a stop in Lakeside May 28-June 1, displayed along the lakefront near the Hotel Lakeside lawn.In 2026, Lakeside will be the only community in Ohio to host this sacred memorial, making this a rare opportunity to pay tribute to those who served.
A three-fifths-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., the wall rises 6 feet at its center and stretches to nearly 300 feet long. Each name etched into its surface represents a life, a story, and a sacrifice.
More than a monument, The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall® offers a space for healing and connection. It was created to bring the memorial closer to home, allowing families, friends and communities to honor loved ones who served in the Vietnam War, especially those who may never have the chance to visit the national memorial in Washington.
Veterans will receive free admission to view the memorial wall upon presenting a Veteran ID at the gates; valid for two hours. Parking is an additional fee.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteers are needed to monitor the exhibit throughout its duration at Lakeside, and at least 20 volunteers are needed to help load in and load out.
