The Valuation Lab: Behind the Numbers
Join The WEALTH Collective in person for The Valuation Lab: Behind the Numbers, Understanding Appraisals, Value and Equity.
Research found that homes in Black neighborhoods were valued an average $48,000 less per home, than similar homes in White neighborhoods. In addition, purchase transactions in Black neighborhoods were approxmmately 69% more likely to appraise below the contract price than homes in White neighborhoods. This is why we are going Behind the Numbers and providing appraisal education needed to understand value, protect equity and build financial power.
The event will begin with breakfast and networking, followed by a financial education discussion presented by Chase focused on credit, debt and overall financial wellness.
Next, The WEALTH Collective and Affordable Housing Centers of Pennsylvania will present appraisal education that breaks down how the appraisal process works, what influences property value, how to understand the information within an appraisal report and what happens when an appraisal is undervalued.
The event will conclude with an interactive panel discussion featuring industry professionals who will provide additional insights into appraisals, property value and equity.
