This educational program explores what it was like for the people who lived in Northampton County during American Revolution. Moving beyond famous figures and battlefield stories, this talk reveals how ordinary people in Northampton County experienced war, uncertainty, and dramatic social change. Drawing on local records, objects, and firsthand accounts, it offers a vivid, human look at how the Revolution unfolded close to home.Tim Betz is the Curator of Exhibitions at the Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society in Easton, PA. His book, Making History: Makerspaces for Museums and Historic Sites, explores how learning and teaching historic trades and crafts is an important way to learn about the past for museum goers, museum professionals, and scholars. He teaches art history at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and is completing his PhD in history at Lehigh University, where he focuses on the role of collections and material culture in the shaping of the Spanish Empire.
