✨🖊️ 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕌𝕟𝕥𝕒𝕞𝕖𝕕 ℙ𝕖𝕟 🖊️ ✨
What if writing wasn’t something you had to labour or over at a desk, but a fun, hands-on way to get out of your head and onto the page?
If you’ve ever felt intimidated by traditional writing groups, where everyone sits silently, works in isolation, and waits to be critique then this space is for you!
𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕌𝕟𝕥𝕒𝕞𝕖𝕕 ℙ𝕖𝕟 is a warm, welcoming, monthly gathering where we treat writing as an active, playful process. We use gentle movement, shared materials and collaborative exercises to help you bypass writer's block, quiet the inner critic, and simply enjoy making marks on paper again.
Every session is a little different, but here’s a taste of what we might explore together:
* Gentle Somatic Starts: We take time to settle in, stretch, walk the room, or tune into the sounds around us before opening our notebooks. Starting in the body means you never have to stare at an intimidating blank page.
* Collaborative Prompts: We build our own prompt decks together on the night using quick sensory words gathered from the group, drawing them at random to spark surprising new ideas.
* Playing with Paper: Early drafts are just raw material to play with, not final products. Depending on the session, we might cut lines apart to collage new poems with a partner, write together on a big paper roll on the floor, or gently release a fragment to water or flame.
* Echo Backs (Zero Critique): You will never be put on the spot or picked apart. If you choose to read aloud, listeners simply call back the specific words that pinged for them, so you hear what landed without any judgment or unsolicited advice.
You don’t need any previous writing experience, a polished idea, or "good" grammar. Just bring yourself, a notebook, and a favorite pen.
Ready to step away from the desk and join us?
Spaces are kept cosy and small so everyone feels comfortable. We’d love to welcome you to the circle!
