This event promises to realign your understanding of God’s story while expanding your appreciation for all Jesus accomplished on our behalf. How’s this for a bold promise? You will never read the Bible the same way again.Greg Serviss will provide an overview of Dr. Michael S. Heiser's book, “Unseen Realm.” Dr. Heiser, an Old Testament and Ancient Middle Eastern Languages scholar, dedicated the last 15 years of his life to unlocking some of the most perplexing verses in the Bible. He’s noted for saying, “If a Bible verse is weird, it’s important.”
He adopts the supernatural worldview of the Bible’s authors and readers and applies recent discoveries in the ancient Hebrew text to unveil the meaning of the sons of God, the divine council, the Watchers and the Nephilim, the gods of the nations, and so much more.
In this event we will:
- Watch a section of Dr. Heiser’s video series: “The Supernatural Seminar.” (Dr. Heiser’s book “Supernatural” sold separately, however handouts will be provided.)
- Hold a brief Q&A session to clarify the material
- Discuss the meaning and implications of the research on God’s identity, plans and promises, and our identity and destiny.
About Greg Serviss:
Greg has been a Sozo Prayer Minister for 14 years and has been a small group leader for Bible Study Fellowship for the last 13 years. He has led several Bible studies including The Alpha Course, The Peace University, and The Truth Project. Greg is also the Board Chair for Hospitality House Youth Development, a Christ-centered ministry that has provided education, athletic and recreational services to the youth of North Minneapolis for the last 65 years.
