Please join us for an outreach event to raise awareness about the standard cruelty of the dairy industry. We will be focusing on "calf-raising" operations in California, like the Grimmius Cattle Co.Every single day, newborn calves are ripped from their mothers and shipped to facilities like the Grimmius ranch to be raised for the dairy and beef industries.
A DxE investigation documented the rough handling of newborn calves and their intensive confinement in small, barren hutches for the first few months of their lives—when they are at their most vulnerable.
We will gather to show this evidence to the public and advocate for these animals.
At this event, we will:
* Show DxE’s investigation footage from Grimmius Cattle Co. on a large screen.
* Hold peaceful one-on-one conversations with the public about the reality of the dairy industry.
* Distribute informational materials.
This is a silent, visually-driven demonstration. There will be no speeches, only outreach conversations..
WHEN: Saturday, March 21st, 1pm
WHERE: Downtown Berkeley BART, main entrance.
WEAR: ALL BLACK clothing if possible (to create a unified, solemn visual presence).
WHO: Everyone is welcome who believes in justice for animals. However, please do not come if you have or recently had symptoms of or exposure to COVID-19.
ACCESSIBILITY: This event will involve standing for extended periods. We will have a couple of chairs on hand for anyone who needs to rest.
