Saturday, March 28 — Downtown Fort MillWheels roll at 9:00 AM
It’s back, baby. The Triple Dip: The Charlotte Region’s most prestigious, least organized cycling event — returns for another year of questionable route choices, bad decisions, and even worse nutrition plans.
If you’ve been before, you already know what’s up. If not, here’s the deal: every spring we gather in Downtown Fort Mill, act like athletes, and then spend the rest of the day proving we’re not. The Triple Dip is equal parts group ride, social experiment, and traveling circus. The miles are free, the memories are blurry, and somehow someone always ends up with a hot dog in the wrong hole.
We’ll meet downtown, because that’s where we've always met, and I don't want to confuse anyone. Hell, Dicky will likely go to the wrong Hobos anyway.
Wheels roll at 9:00 AM sharp, which really means “show up by 8:30, (8:00 if you want parking lot burritos), sign your waiver, and pretend to stretch.”
Like always, No waiver = no wristband = no ride = no hot dog = your fault.

The route? It’s the same beloved disaster as always; a scenic blend of pavement, dirt, greenway, and mild trespassing. Some “trail connectors” washed out in the hurricane, and we definitely haven’t fixed them. That’s part of the charm. You might carry your bike. You might fall in a puddle. You might question your life choices. Congratulations, you’re doing it right.
Halfway through, we’ll stop for lunch, the official refueling station for champions of mediocrity. Hot dogs aren't mandatory, but they're free. Nothing says “peak performance” like mustard stains on Lycra.
