About this Event
The Urban Forest: A Panel Discussion on Trees, Careers, and Community
Join professionals from forestry, arboriculture, urban ecology, municipal government, conservation, and environmental stewardship for a panel discussion exploring the complete ecosystem of urban trees and the people who care for them.
The conversation will examine tree planting programs, urban canopy management, heat island mitigation, pollinator habitat, invasive species management, maintenance and pruning, storm response, tree removal, wood utilization, and the processing of urban tree waste. Panelists will also discuss how these systems connect with city planning, public works, environmental policy, and climate resilience.
Students, parents, educators, community members, and anyone interested in environmental careers are encouraged to attend. The discussion is designed to increase awareness of the many professions that support healthy urban forests, introduce career pathways that are often overlooked, and provide practical insight into the education, training, and skills needed to enter the field.
The goal is to better understand the social and professional ecosystem surrounding urban trees while connecting the next generation with the people and organizations shaping the future of environmental stewardship.
