In 2024 we will be running our extremely popular TOMMY RUNS on the 3rd November which is the week before Memorial Sunday. The 5km & 10km courses are along the beautiful sea front at Seaham on a mixture of closed roads, paths, promenade and some trail paths. The start & finish will be at the Tommy War Memorial statue of a First World War soldier by artist Ray Lonsdale, displayed close to Seaham war memorial, on Terrace Green by the seafront in Seaham, County Durham.
It is officially named 1101 (or Eleven-O-One), referring to the first minute of peace as the armistice came into force at 11am on 11 November 1918, but is more popularly known as Tommy, referring to the archetypal private soldier, Tommy Atkins.
All 10km finishers will get a T-shirt, Medal, snack and a drink. 5km finishers will get a medal, Wild Deer Merchandise, a snack & a drink. We would love to see you there! All fitness levels welcome.
