The First Congregational Church of Madison’s Music at the Meetinghouse concert series is thrilled to welcome the One and Only Tommy Dorsey Orchestra! Tommy Dorsey, “The Sentimental Gentleman”, was unsurpassed as a bandleader during The Swing Era of American popular music. Today’s One and Only Tommy Dorsey Orchestra continues this great tradition for audiences worldwide, and fans of all ages.Frank Sinatra's career blossomed with Dorsey, and, with Sinatra's vocals, the band became more successful than ever. With hits like “Swanee River”, “On the Sunny Side of the Street”, “Stardust”, “Night and Day”, “I’ll Be Seeing You”, “Blue Skies”, and many others, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra was recognized as the greatest dance band, swinging with the best and beyond compare when setting the mood with a romantic ballad.
