On Friday, September 12, 2025, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM (EST), the Iranian Association of Boston will host Dr. Manijeh Ghavami Zarghamee for a talk titled “The Timeless Bond Between Flowers, Women, and Poetry.”Dr. Ghavami Zarghamee earned her medical degree from Tehran University and completed her specialties in both England and the United States. In this talk, she will share insights into her artwork, exploring the symbolic and emotional connections she sees between flowers, the qualities of women, and poetry. Her paintings express deep emotional responses to the injustices faced by women—particularly in recent years in Iran—and are shaped by influences from mysticism and modern Iranian poetry. In the last part, we will hear the soulful sound of the tar performed by our esteemed artist, Ali Arshi.
