About this Event
The 18th century presented one of the finest eras of fashion that history has to offer; it also hosted one of the more tumultuous conflicts that would greatly define the future of the textile industry in America.
The boycott of English goods would not only instigate the beginning of the Revolutionary War, but the defiance of the patriots would stir one of the largest examples of fashion statements out of resentment for the King and his taxes.
It is rarely recognized that the Revolutionary War was not only fought on the battlefields, but in the market, on the streets, in the home and on the body.
Join speaker Nicole Frederick to learn the intricacies of the textile industry of the day and how textiles became tools of patriotism that defined and valued a nation's loyalty to Freedom.
