A Tsunami swept out of Seattle in the early 1990s, covering the country and changing the face of rock music. Bands like Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam forged the grunge movement. One of the best tributes to the era is Grunge: The Sound of Seattle. Hailing from Lexington, Kentucky, they capture the rage and spirit of grunge. Put on your black high tops and cargo shorts and join us at The Square @ Union Centre.
As a special treat, we have enlisted Cincinnati's own 2nd Wind to open this show. With the energy of a five-piece horn section, this veteran band has been playing for over 30 years, bringing their own twist to an eclectic, massive catalog of songs from the 60s and all the way up to present day.
Dance hits like Uptown Funk, Billie Jean, Brick House and September are included in their sets. You may also hear standards from Led Zeppelin, Santana, the Rolling Stones, the Doors, Wilson Pickett, Chicago, Steely Dan and other rock and soul classics. If you like a show that keeps you on your toes, with no idea of what to expect next, this is the band for you.
Chow down on grub from AJ’s Cheesesteaks, the VFW Food Truck, and Chill Out Italian Ice. Cold beer will be on tap, with proceeds benefiting the VFW/American Legion.
