About this Event
In a nation founded on the principles of religious freedom, the U.S. Supreme Court plays a pivotal role in shaping how we understand and practice that freedom. The Constitution’s First Amendment begins, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Over the centuries, these 16 words have sparked numerous landmark legal battles that have shaped the fabric of American society.
Please join us on Saturday, October 19, at 2 p.m., Grace UMC will host a Faith in Action Panel Discussion titled, The Supreme Court: The Legal Future of Religion in America. This event will feature a distinguished panel of journalists who have spent their careers covering the U.S. Supreme Court. These experienced professionals will provide valuable insights into the Court’s past rulings and offer a glimpse into the legal controversies likely to come before the nation’s highest court in the near future.
