About this Event

The Struggle Continues is a panel discussion designed to ground our movement in a clear analysis of the current state of the genocide, the political forces enabling it, and the growing movement for Palestinian liberation in the United States. Tickets are required. This event is free with the option of donating. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA) and their relief efforts in Gaza.

This conversation moves beyond headlines to examine what this moment demands of us collectively. Hear from:

  • Laila Al-Arian, award-winning journalist at Al Jazeera’s Fault Lines
  • Sharif Abdel Kouddous, award-winning journalist at Dropsite News
  • Mahmoud Khalil, activist, student, and organizer
  • Jake Romm, writer and human rights lawyer organizing with The Hind Rajab Foundation

Opening Remarks will be given by Reverend Mira Sawlani-Joyner, Minister of Justice, Advocacy, and Change at The Riverside Church, and our program will conclude with a special performance by the NYC Palestinian Youth Choir.

The panel will bring together these organizers, scholars, and movement leaders to address three urgent questions:

Where are we now? Where is the movement? Where do we go next?

This event is intentionally structured to be accessible to those who are newly engaging with the issue and meaningful for longtime organizers seeking deeper analysis and direction. Whether you are looking to better understand the political landscape, situate yourself within the movement, or identify tangible next steps you can take for Palestine, this panel aims to provide clarity, grounding, and momentum.

This is not just a conversation, it is a call to action.

Hosting The Struggle Continues at The Riverside Church located in Harlem, NY carries deep historical and moral significance. The Riverside Church has long stood as a space where faith, conscience, and movements for justice intersect. From opposition to war and colonialism to leadership in struggles for civil rights, labor, and human dignity, the church has served as a platform for voices challenging state violence and moral complicity. We ground this conversation in the legacy of the church, its neighborhood, and this community.
