The Storytellers have cemented their place as a creative force in the Southern California roots music scene with their dynamic progressive bluegrass sound. The band draws from a deep well of traditional bluegrass, country blues, old-time, and folk music to create inspired improvisations and compelling vocal harmonies that resonate with audiences everywhere.
Their remarkable musical chemistry produces soulful harmonies, nuanced acoustic arrangements, soaring grooves, and substantive storytelling—all delivered with their signature "hippie bluegrass" vibe that transforms every performance into a memorable experience.
The Storytellers have performed on the stages of numerous prestigious bluegrass festivals, including the Huck Finn Jubilee, Calico Bluegrass Festival, Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival, and Desert Bluegrass Festival. Their 2024 highlights include headlining the prestigious Prescott Bluegrass Festival and sharing the stage with bluegrass legend Peter Rowan at the Brookdale Bluegrass Festival. The band has been a regular fixture at June Lake Jam Fest and has performed at large county fairs throughout Southern California.
In 2022, The Storytellers held a year-long residency at Treasure Island Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, while continuing to establish themselves at other distinguished venues. Their groundbreaking achievements continued in 2023 when they became the first bluegrass-style band to perform on one of NAMM's premier stages.
The Storytellers are Scott Diehl (Guitar, Vocals), Lance Frantzich (Bass, Vocals), Tyler Emerson (Fiddle, Vocals), David Burns (Banjo, Vocals), and Steve Stelmach (Washboard, Percussion).

The Community Performance & Arts Center Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt charitable organization (#86-0967986) established to promote public support for the completion of the Community Performance & Art Center in Green Valley, Arizona. Our mission is to encourage/promote the highest and best community use of the Center through promoting creative activities in accordance with our by-laws by enhancing the range and quality of performers and artists, and by securing annual giving towards the operation of the Center.
