Join us for an evening of true, personal stories about science. Hosted by Grant Bowen and Christine Williams. Doors at 7 pm. Show starts at 7:30 pm.Azhar Bande-Ali is a storyteller who likes his tales with a side of laughs. His award-winning debut solo show, "Curry and Catharsis," presented at the NYC Fringe Festival, won hearts for telling an Indian story hyphenated by an American upbringing. As a former Moth StorySLAM winner, he obsesses over story structure that leaves plenty of room for silliness to highlight the complexities of the human experience.
Molly Berenhaus is an academic, performer and science communicator. She was awarded her PhD in Psychology from the University of Sussex in 2018. She also earned her Diploma in Musical Theatre Vocal Performance from the University of West London in 2015. Combining her loves of psychology and performance, Molly has worked as a psychology writer, arts-education evaluator and lecturer. Currently, she works as a recruiter in the legal space where she helps candidates find roles they are passionate about. Molly is also in a band and dabbles in creative writing and yoga.
Jenna Dioguardi is a writer, performer & creative producer. She is the co-creator and co-host of The Best Storytelling Show (we promise), running bi-monthly at Young Ethel’s in Brooklyn. Jenna regularly performs her comedic storytelling on this show, and in several other dimly lit venues throughout New York. Last year, she served as co-host and producer of The Mister Rogers Variety Hour, a monthly live variety show inspired by the kindness, curiosity, and cardigan-stylings of Fred Rogers. Jenna made her Off-Broadway debut in Sarah DeLappe’s The Wolves, garnering both Obie & Drama Desk awards with the ensemble. By day, Jenna works as a freelance video producer and editor, cutting short films, reels, and the ads that target you on Instagram. She produced, starred in, and co-edited Smooch the Tucc, a web series chronicling Stanley Tucci’s Searching for Italy. As a side gig, Jenna successfully beat breast cancer in 2021, and is now working out stories for her new solo show, Nipples for Christmas.
Sumitra Mattai is a New York City-based writer and textile designer. She holds a BFA in Textile Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School. Her writing has been featured in Scary Mommy, Huffington Post and Writing Class Radio, among others.
