Sign up for our brand new program: The Story ArchiveOur local history is not just stuck in the museum - sometimes it is sitting in a box at home (you know the box we’re talking about 😂)
We’re looking for photos, stories, letters, and paper ephemera that capture Clarksburg and Harrison County history through the decades. This included buildings, streetscapes, landmarks, events, and everyday life - whether from the 1890s or the 1990s, we want to see what you’ve got!
Here’s how it works:
1. Gather a small selection of photos or paper items from your collection connected to Clarksburg or Harrison County history. (This can be snapshots, polaroids, event programs, tickets, etc. We want to see and learn about any story from any time period!)
2. Sign up for a time slot at our Story Archive Event (link in the comments)
3. Bring your items to the museum on Friday, April 10th about 10 minutes before your reserved time.
4. We will scan your items for our archive and will share with you a digital copy on a jump drive you get to keep - and you keep the originals.
5. Your story is preserved for future generations!
* Please bring a small selection of meaningful items and help us preserve the story behind them.
Larger collections may be selected for digitization at a future time.
** Photos and stories may be shared on our blog and in future exhibits with credit to you, the owner.
*** This program is free and open to the public, but space is limited - Tickets are not required but please use the signup link to reserve a spot
