The Stories We Don't Tell

Ever rehearsed a conversation in the car and then said something completely different when you arrived? Or carried a story for years because telling it would have changed everything?
This month at Story Haven KC, we’re making room for “The Stories We Don’t Tell.” The things we weren’t allowed to say. The silence that protected us. The truth we’re still finding words for. Some stories are heavy. Some are funny in hindsight. Some are still unfinished.
You’re invited to share a three-to-five-minute story, or settle in and listen. No storytelling experience needed, and nobody owes the room a secret. You choose what to share and what to keep for yourself.
If you’re looking for a place to begin, consider: What story have you protected yourself from telling? What silence kept you alive? What truth is knocking now?
Story Haven is a gathering for people with beliefs, doubts, questions, and stories. We listen without trying to fix each other. There’s room to laugh, pause, lose your place, and start again.
