As the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence comes into focus, questions remain about how AI can be used for good, how it may do harm, and the opportunities it may create in the future.

AI has been around for decades. But all of a sudden, it has become a force to be reckoned with. Everyone can see it and work with it. People have realized that they need to pay attention to AI because there’s no place to hide from it.

Enthusiastic users are singing its praises. Its capacity to analyze massive amounts of data at unbelievable speeds could mean we solve issues as diverse as cancer, food insecurity, and climate change. But for every reason to be excited about it, there is a reason to be anxious. AI ethicists are trying to toe the line between promise and peril, opportunity and risk.

Join us for an informative and possibly mind-bending talk that will explore and provide examples/demonstrations of topics such as:

· AI 101: what is it, how can you use it, where can you find it, who is using it

· Who the AI leaders are and why

· How AI is affecting our daily lives – both good and bad

· Plans for improving the quality of AI

· Pitfalls to watch for and avoidIn short, the good, bad, and ugly we experience with AI use.

Mark Unak of Milwaukee is an economist who consults on labor, education, and investment trends for public policy and university organizations. A Yale University undergraduate and a University of Chicago PhD in economics, Unak has worked for many well-known corporations and banks, including AT&T, and in developing AI for Google Maps and other applications. He also consults on labor, education, and investment trends for public policy and university organizations.
