Join us for The Sourdough Social, a cozy spring baking workshop for moms at Whelan’s Coffee in downtown Oconomowoc.

Next Sunday afternoon, local mom of 3 + talented baker, Makayla of @bellflowerbreads, will guide us through the beautiful art of sourdough. In this exclusive workshop, she’ll share the journey she began in 2023 when she set out to bake nourishing, organic bread for her family.

What started as a simple kitchen hobby quickly flourished into a beloved farmstand business serving hundreds of families throughout our community. 4,000 loaves and a commercial bread oven later — Makayla is excited to make sourdough approachable for YOU.

During this relaxed, hands-on class you’ll learn:

✨ How to care for & maintain a sourdough starter

✨ The step-by-step process for baking a successful loaf

✨ Tips to make sourdough baking approachable at home

👇🏼Each mom will receive:

• their own organic sourdough starter

• Makayla’s favorite sourdough recipe + bread-making tip guide to use at home

• fresh sourdough bread + muffins to sample from Bellflower Breads

• coffee from Whelan's to sip while we learn together

Makayla will also demonstrate how to shape an adorable bunny sourdough loaf — just in time for Easter. 🐇
