THE SOUND OF TEA : Matcha • Live Music • Presence
About this Event
A contemplative afternoon of tea, music, and deep listening.
What if tea were not only tasted, but heard?
Join Yuna Lee, Tea Practitioner, Sound & Breathwork Facilitator, and Shane McFee, ambient guitarist and improvisational musician (son of legendary Doobie Brothers guitarist John McFee), for a unique experience where ceremonial matcha and live music become a shared meditation.
The afternoon begins with the mindful preparation of ceremonial matcha, inviting you to notice the subtle sounds often overlooked—the pouring of water, the movement of the bamboo whisk, the rhythm of breath, and the silence between moments.
As you enjoy a bowl of matcha, Yuna and Shane will create a live improvised sound journey featuring ambient guitar, crystal singing bowls, and Tibetan singing bowls. Rather than performing for the audience, the music unfolds naturally in response to the tea, the space, and the people gathered, creating an atmosphere of presence, reflection, and stillness.
No previous experience with tea or meditation is needed. Simply come as you are and allow yourself to slow down, listen deeply, and experience tea in a new way.
