A unique and charming performance will take place at Newcastle Regional Library on the evening of Monday August 10 - The Sound of Picture Books. Promoted by the University of Newcastle, the Children's Book Council of Australia and Hunter Region and Newcastle Libraries, internationally acclaimed artist, author, and composer Matt Ottley presents The Sound of Picture Books™—a breathtaking performance where music, art, and storytelling come alive together on stage.
With narration, projected illustrations, and a live musical score performed by Elizabeth Holowell and Anthea Scott-Mitchell, beloved picture books are transformed into a multi-sensory journey for audiences of all ages. It’s part concert, part theatre, part storytime — and unlike anything you’ve experienced before. Tickets are $10 for CBC members and $20 for non-members.
