Synopsis: Get ready for a fast‑paced, side‑splitting spoof of the legendary outlaw you almost remember! In this Monty Python‑style romp, Robin Hood and his Merry Men battle the evil Prince John with plenty of snark, slapstick, and fourth‑wall‑breaking fun. Packed with over‑the‑top characters, outrageous plot twists, and humor for all ages, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood is a wildly entertaining adventure that proves heroism is in the eye of the beholder — and comedy is everywhere.
Performance Dates:
September 11th - September 27th
The show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. There is a preview performance on Thursday, July 16th at 8 pm.

The Director is seeking:
Males: 8+ Ages 16+

Character Gender/Age Range Description
Robin Hood (20s – 30s) Dashing hero with a large ego, his mission is to help the homeless and poor of England
Lady Marian (20s – 30s) Lovely damsel in distress, Robin’s true love
Prince John (30s +) The head bad guy, evil, selfish, greedy, has positively no regard for the welfare of England
Sheriff of Nottingham (30s +) Prince John’s cohort in crime, is a master sportsman and Robin’s chief rival
Town’s Guy/ Gal (18 +) The local yokel, serves as the story’s narrator, may be a man or a woman
Lady in Waiting (18 +) Lady Marian’s attendant, fed up with life in the castle, must scream loudly multiple times
Friar Tuck (40s +) Holy relic, one of the Merry Men
Will Scarlet (16 +) The wise guy, another of the Merry Men
Little John (16 +) Big lummox with an IQ of 6, another of the Merry Men
Allan Adale (16 +) Slightly brighter than Little John, another of the Merry Men
Fawning Ladies (16 +) Four ladies who “fawn” over Prince John
Ensemble (16+) Additional Merry Men – may be men or women, collectively behave somewhat like a pack of happy, but none-too-bright stray dogs

SPECIAL NOTES FOR AUDITIONERS
Readings will be from the script. Sides (copies of the script pages) will be available at auditions.
Please dress in comfortable clothing.
There are no sign-up slots.
Please arrive at the beginning of the scheduled audition, 6 pm on Sunday, or 7 pm on Monday. It is not necessary to come to both
audition dates.
We will be casting actors aged 16 and older for this production.
Please bring a resume and a headshot or a photo of yourself, if you have them. If you do not have a photo, we will request to take your photo at the audition, for the sole purpose of remembering every auditioner.
Please bring a completed audition form with you to auditions. The audition form is located HERE. We will have extra forms at auditions if you need to fill one out then.
The Director will schedule 2-3 rehearsals per week, Monday – Thursday, based on best cast availability for the following dates: June 22 – Sept 10. Not all cast will be called for all rehearsals in the beginning, as we work on individual scenes. Please be prepared to list your potential rehearsal conflicts on your audition form. Significant conflicts which arise after casting, may result in a role being rescinded.
Rehearsals will be 7:00 – 9:00 pm, on scheduled days, until mid-August.
** Rehearsals will be mandatory starting the week of Aug. 16. Rehearsals will likely run later as we near the opening of the show.
All potential rehearsal conflicts need to either be listed on your audition form or attached to the form.
