Back from the dead, The Smarmy Bastards return alongside Black Cows, Poser and The MelTez Trio for a night of live original music.

We are thrilled to help re-ignite an emerging original music scene in Grafton with the support of this iconic pub which already hosts a monthly songwriters event and weekly live music (Front Bar Fridays).
For this event though - we have been given not only the entire back room, but the whole courtyard as well which will be cordoned off for event goers. Perfect for catching a breath between rocking out.
We want to bring back a taste of the 90s when local original bands would work together to showcase their music and get the dancefloor cooking making awesome memories in the process.
So who's on the bill?

MelTez Trio
Adding drums to an already energetic duo, this newly formed collaboration has begun firing on all cylinders - reinvigorating ballads and melodic rock songs into upbeat earworms.
Members: Mel Smith, Terry Deefholts, Michael "Chog" Chojnacki
8.15-9.00pm
Poser
This emerging duo caught the ear of event planners with their striking melodic rock sensibilities and sophisticated guitar work. Both young members have worked in multiple projects and appear to live for their craft.
Members: Amiah Carroll, Byron Perry
9.15-10.15pm
Black Cows
15 years and mooing. This highly infectious mob of love-soaked musos will bring a contagious energy to the night. A 5 piece outfit ensuring a big sound and moo-along atmosphere. Original songs from the heart, yearning for community - Black Cows have a knack of warming audiences into a joyous glow. They've headlined festivals and made parties unforgettable - these bovines know what they are doing.

The Smarmy Bastards
First formed in the 90s in the midst of a decent Grafton music scene, the Smarmies have always been an originals band who moved from punk/ska into funk rock/reggae over the years. They've played one recent show after a 15 year hiatus and it inspired all members to properly shake off the cobwebs and ride again. New songs are emerging and recording projects are being discussed. Needless to say - the gents are pumped for this show.
