The Sixth Annual Rougarou ClassicThis is a 2026 USS Nationals Qualifier!!
The Atlas Strength Shop will be hosting the 6th Annual Rougarou Classic on Saturday November 22nd at 10:00am and the Pontchartrain Center. As will all USS Shows this will be a Nationals Qualifier. There is a hotel that shares a parking lot with the venue and parking will be ample.
Weigh ins will be at the Atlas Strength Shop on November 21st from 7:30 to 10:30am and again from 5:00-6:30pm. (There may be a change in the evening time frame depending on how long set up takes)
We‘ll have weigh ins the day of on November 22nd at 8:30am
Rules meeting Starts at 9:30am on Saturday November 22nd

Event 1: Trump Log Clean and Press for Reps; On the command “GO” the Athlete will have :60 seconds to to choose between a 2 Logs, a Lighter and a Heavier Log. ANY AMOUNT OF REPS ON THE HEAVY LOG BEAT ANY NUMBER OF REPS ON THE LIGHTER LOG! For example. If the Athlete completes 2 reps on the Heavier Log then he or she beats out 10 rep on the Lighter Log. If an athlete misses an attempt on the Heavier Log and has time remaining the athlete CAN and Should attempt the lighter log. However, if the athlete is able to complete at least 1 rep then they cannot move to the lighter log. The Athlete MUST wait for the down command in order for their rep to count. The down command will be given when the elbows are locked out, the head is pushed through the window and eye contact is made with the judge. If you have shoulder issues that prevent this let the judge know and REASONABLE accommodations will be made. It is at the discretion of the judge what constitutes “reasonable” Each Athlete will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible.
Lighter Log will be metal and Heavier Log will be a Slater Log
Equipment Allowed: Grip Shirts, Knee Sleeves, Chalk, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Belts, (soft belts too)
Event 2: 3 Bar Deadlift Ladder; On the command “GO” the Athlete will have :60 seconds to complete a 3 Bar Deadlift Ladder on Power Bars. If the athlete has time remaining after the 3rd (Heaviest) bar is lifted, then they will continue to lift that bar for max reps with the time remaining. A rep is complete when the knees and hips have locked out and the judge gives you the down command. BARS MUST BE UNDER THE ATHLETES CONTROL AT ALL TIMES! DO NOT DROP THE BARS!!
NOTE: THIS WILL BE AN ASSORTED LIST OF POWER BARS SO PLEASE DON’T ASK ME FOR THE BRAND
Equipment Allowed: Deadlift Suits, Chalk, Knee Sleeve, Knee Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Straps, Belt (soft belts too)
Event 3: Conan’s Wheel, Max Distance; This event has NO TIME LIMIT! On the command “GO” the athlete will pick the up their the bar in a zercher grip and go for as long as they can. No drops. As soon as you drop you’re out. Athlete may have their hands on the implements before they begin.
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Belt, Soft Belt,
Event 4: 3 Bag Sandbag Toss; Bags will be placed 15 feet from the uprights. On the command “GO” the athlete will have :60 seconds to run to grab their bags in order from Lightest to Heaviest and throw the bags over the crossmember. If an athlete misses a throw they must retrieve their bag and continue to throw until they make it over the cross beam before moving on to the next bag.
Men’s Height will be 15 feet and Women’s Height will be 12 feet.

Event 5: Max Reps Stone to Shoulder; On the command “Go” the athlete will lift their stone to their shoulder for as many reps as possible in :60 seconds. Athletes will ONLY receive a down command once they remove their hand and show control over the stone. Only reps where a down command is given will count. The stone MUST land on the crash pad for reps to count AND IF OUR VOLUNTEERS HAVE TO DODGE YOUR STONE THEN YOU WILL ZERO THE EVENT! BE INTENSE BUT DON’T BE A LIABILITY TO MY PEOPLE!
