About this Event

The film follows a 400-year journey of truth and reconciliation between two branches of their family—one Black, one white—as they uncover shared roots from slavery in South Carolina to a modern-day reunion and pilgrimage to Liberia. It’s both a personal and national reckoning, culminating in the unveiling of South Carolina’s first historical marker to acknowledge the Ku Klux Klan.
