The Shootouts Announce “Long Play Weekend”
Two Nights, Four Albums, Performed In Their Entirety
Akron favorites celebrate their catalog with two special hometown shows
November 20 & 21, 2026, at the Akron Civic Theatre’s Knight Stage
AKRON, OH — The Shootouts will celebrate more than a decade of music with an ambitious two-night hometown event unlike anything the band has done before. The acclaimed Akron-based country and Americana band will present “Long Play Weekend,” a special two-night event featuring full-band performances of all four of the band’s albums, played live and in their entirety, at the Akron Civic Theatre’s Knight Stage on Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21, 2026.
Each evening will feature two complete albums, giving fans a rare opportunity to hear songs spanning The Shootouts’ entire recording career — including deep cuts and fan favorites that rarely make their way into a typical live set.

The Shootouts are a trio consisting of Ryan Humbert, Emily Bates and Brian Poston, whose shared vocals and musicianship form the core of the band’s distinctive country and Americana sound. Formed in Akron in 2015, The Shootouts have forged a sound Rolling Stone called “perfect rustbelt country.” Blending honky-tonk grit with classic Americana storytelling, the band has earned national press, multiple award nominations, three Top 10 Americana albums and a reputation for an electrifying live show.
In 2023, The Shootouts made their Grand Ole Opry debut, beginning a relationship with the legendary institution that has since brought them back to the Opry stage 15 times. In 2025, they made their Ryman Auditorium debut as part of the Opry’s 100th anniversary celebrations. The outfits worn during their first Opry appearance were later added to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s “Cleveland Rocks” exhibit. For the band’s 10th anniversary on October 10, 2025, The Shootouts fittingly celebrated the milestone by making their 10th appearance on the Grand Ole Opry.
Their latest release, Switchback, produced by Dan Knobler, features guest appearances from Vince Gill, Rodney Crowell, and more. The album reached #4 on the Americana Radio Album Chart, remained in the Top 20 for 19 weeks, and was hailed by Rolling Stone as “the sleeper Americana LP of the summer.”
Over the course of their career, The Shootouts have also collaborated with artists including Rhonda Vincent, Marty Stuart, Chuck Mead, Asleep at the Wheel, Raul Malo of the Mavericks, and Buddy Miller, while sharing stages with Lake Street Dive, Sheryl Crow, Chris Isaak, Charley Crockett, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Steve Earle, and many more.
“Long Play Weekend” arrives at another pivotal moment for the band. The Shootouts are currently recording their fifth studio album in Nashville with legendary producer, engineer, and mixer Chuck Ainlay, whose credits include George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Peter Frampton, Mark Knopfler, Vince Gill, Ella Langley, and many others.
