About this Event

Trosolwg

Mae darllen yn llawer mwy na datgodio geiriau ar y dudalen. Er mwyn datblygu darllenwyr hyderus ac annibynnol, mae angen i ddysgwyr adeiladu ystod eang o wybodaeth, sgiliau a strategaethau sy’n eu galluogi i ddeall, gwerthuso a rhyngweithio’n ystyrlon â thestunau.

Ymunwch â ni am sesiwn dysgu proffesiynol ymarferol ac ysbrydoledig a fydd yn cryfhau eich dealltwriaeth o'r broses ddarllen a sut mae medrau darllen yn datblygu dros amser. Gan ddefnyddio modelau megis Rhaff Ddarllen Scarborough, byddwn yn archwilio'r elfennau sy'n cyfrannu at ddarllen medrus a sut y gellir cefnogi’r rhain yn effeithiol yn yr ystafell ddosbarth.

Gyda'n gilydd, byddwn yn archwilio strategaethau cyn, yn ystod ac ar ôl darllen, rôl metawybyddiaeth wrth ddatblygu dealltwriaeth, a phwysigrwydd modelu gweithredol wrth wneud y broses ddarllen yn weladwy i ddysgwyr. Bydd y sesiwn yn cynnig strategaethau ac adnoddau ymarferol i gefnogi pob dysgwr i ddatblygu'n ddarllenwyr hyderus, medrus ac annibynnol.

Overview

Reading is far more than decoding words on a page. To become confident and independent readers, learners need to develop a complex combination of knowledge, language, thinking and comprehension skills that enable them to make meaning from texts.

Join us for an engaging and practical professional learning event designed to deepen your understanding of how children learn to read and how effective classroom practice can support reading development. Drawing on models such as Scarborough's Reading Rope, we will explore the interconnected strands that contribute to skilled reading and consider how these can be developed through high-quality teaching.

Together we will examine effective strategies before, during and after reading, explore the role of metacognition in developing comprehension, and strengthen teacher modelling to make the invisible processes of reading visible. The session will equip practitioners with practical, evidence-informed approaches that can be applied immediately to help learners become confident, reflective and independent readers.

Target Audience

· Primary School Teachers, Early Secondary School Teachers and LLC Leads.
