THE SECRET LIFE OF COLOURRaymond Zoilé · Early Gouache & Pastel Works · 1940s
For the first time, Galerie Alain Hens presents the early works of Raymond Zoilé (1923–2004) intimate gouaches and pastels from the 1940s, revealing a young artist shaping his visual language in a turbulent decade.
Zoilé studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp alongside Vic Gentils, and later became head of window display and visual design at the Grand Bazar a role that deeply shaped his sense of rhythm, clarity and space.
Rediscovered from his untouched studio, these works illuminate a private, chromatic world that now enters the public eye for the first time.
