The AAHS Performing Arts Club will present The Secret Garden on April 9-11, 2026 at 7pm in the AAHS Auditorium. This enchanting classic of children's literature is reimagined in brilliant musical style by composer Lucy Simon and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman. Orphaned in India, 11-year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his disabled son Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children with haunting melodies and the "Dreamers," spirits from Mary's past who guide her through her new life, dramatizing The Secret Garden's compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.This beautiful musical features 40 students onstage joined by an all-student full pit orchestra and just as many students backstage designing and building all of our sets, props, and costumes! Our students have put in countless hours of work transporting the AAHS Auditorium to exotic India, the majestic Misselthwaite Manor and the surrounding English moors and gardens!
Get your tickets online at altoonaasd.booktix.com before they fade away with the Dreamers into the Yorkshire mist! Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults (plus online processing fees). Tickets are reserved seating and will also be available in advance in the AAHS Student Store and at the door 45 minutes prior to each performance.
