The Secret Book Swap with guest Eleanor Morton - North Berwick - June 2026
About this Event
We don't judge a book by it's cover! We do bring a book we're ready to pass on, enjoy good book chat & pick up a new book to take home.
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀
1. Choose a book you've read, enjoyed and are ready to pass on;
2. Wrap it up (keep it simple or go fancy, it's up to you)
3. On the night, introduce your book to the group, without giving the title or author away (it is a secret after all!)
Then we all get a chance to each pick a book we like the sound of, before we all unwrap them together and discover our new book!
Guest Author:
This month we are joined by Edinburgh comedian and writer, Eleanor Morton who has writtern and and recorded her own show, Eleanor and Pals for BBC R4, as well as writing for The Newsquiz, The Now Show, Newsjack, Hypothetical and The Beano and many other projects. She has also been a panellist and writer on Radio Scotland’s Breaking The News.
Eleanor will be talking to us about her writing, her comedy and her book, Life Lessons from Historical Women which celebrates the ordinary women whose decisions and accomplishments in their everyday lives resonate with us today.
And there's more...
We'll also have another bookish themed parlour game, our monthly banned book reading and of course a nice cuppa!
We are delighted to be hosted at St Columba's Bookshop and Cafe. A portion of our ticket sales will go to them each time we meet.
