Join Laura Huth of Rootfoot Natural Fragrances for the December 6th edition of Concrete Couch's Citizen Science program, as she leads you through the process of distilling essential oil from Christmas Trees and Eucalyptus. Bring a small vessel of your own if you would like to take home a sample of the results.
In this 3 hour Course, we will learn how to:
* Identify whether a plant contains essential oil
* Prepare plant matter for distillation
* Identify the parts and purposes of the distiller
* Assemble and Load the distiller
* Collect, identify, and separate hydrosol from essential oil
* Think about the roles of essential oil in the ecosystem
* Think about the effects of essential oil on insect and animal physiology.
