Curated by House of 9, resident DJ and founder of Freedom Sessions*, and once again hosted by SAWAN**, this new experiment unfolds across two contrasting environments, each with its own distinct frequency:
🔬 The Testing Area opens into brighter tones: R&B classics, Pop sing-alongs, and Commercial Dance favourites merging warmth, energy, and motion.
🧪 The Lab dives deep into House music: from Groove and Tech to Progressive, rooted in underground rhythm and texture.
No theatrics. No pretence. Just music in its purest form: immersive, intentional, and deeply resonant…a continuation of the sonic archive in real time.

* Freedom Sessions emerged on 17th May 2020, founded by House of 9 (Dominique Paul), director of Freedom Creative Studio in Plymouth. While the world stood still, a new venture took shape, one designed to reconnect with the outside world through the language of rhythm. Each chapter carried its own theme, blending multiple genres into immersive DJ sets performed in striking, often symbolic locations. What began as a personal experiment has since evolved into a multidisciplinary platform, expanding into radio, podcasts, and live events that merge sound and visual storytelling into one cohesive experience.
** SAWAN, founded by DJ Deano G (Dean Gilbert), opened its doors in 2024 and quickly established itself as a key player in Plymouth’s nightlife. Vibrant, creative, and strategically located, it has become a hub for renowned DJs, respected labels, and memorable weekend events. Beyond the dancefloor, SAWAN hosts private hires and its signature Open Decks concept every Tuesday, giving emerging and established DJs alike a platform to share their sound.
