Science and technology have always been central to the plots that make up the world of James Bond.
Join Dr Kathryn Harkup, an expert science communicator and self confessed lover of the dark and geeky. Dr Kathryn is a master of her craft and will share an evening exploring the insights behind 007’s exploits. You'll enjoy 3 James Bond themed cocktails (or mocktails) throughout the evening and have the opportunity to ask questions and get some answers on all your Bond villain questions. Expect an evening of fun and informative science entertainment.
This event is being held in collaboration with Windermere Science Festival in our rustic Out Barn over the flicker of candlelight with the roaring fire as the backdrop, we welcome guests to come alone or come with friends, everyone is welcome.

About Dr Kathryn Harkup
A former chemist turned author, Kathryn specialises in the fascinating crossover between science, literature, and pop culture. Her work dives into poisons, monsters, spies, and the darker edges of scientific discovery. She’s as happy explaining how fictional toxins work as she is helping you plot your own (entirely hypothetical) world takeover, or defending yourself from poisoners and the undead.
