About this Event
THE SCARAB CLUB PRESENTS : Pleyel Recital Series: Celebrating Ravel at 150
Step into the elegant Lounge Gallery of the historic Scarab Club as we honor the genius of Maurice Ravel on the 150th anniversary of his birth. Our cherished Pleyel piano—the very instrument favored by Ravel himself—sets the perfect stage for this intimate musical journey.
RAVEL REIMAGINED: CHAMBER MUSIC MASTERWORKS
Experience the shimmering impressionism and precise craftsmanship that defined Ravel's revolutionary approach to sound. Our carefully curated program showcases selections from his most beloved chamber works.
Distinguished Detroit musicians Liana Gourdjia, Deborah Pae, and Julia Siciliano will bring to life Ravel's extraordinary repertoire, capturing the composer's unique blend of classical refinement and modernist innovation. Each performance illuminates Ravel's meticulous attention to color, texture, and emotional depth.
Join us for pre-concert talks with musical scholars exploring Ravel's lasting influence on composition and his connection to the visual arts movements of his time—a fitting celebration in Detroit's historic arts club.
