The Scandal of Grace

Part of the mission of art is to reveal what is hidden or not easily understood.

It is to bring to life the invisible and make plain the truth. Grace is a spiritual concept not easily understood, it can be conceptualized but it isn't always realized until there is a personal revelation of this divine mystery.

In the Holy Scriptures, there is a divine tension between justice and mercy.

God is a just God so He cannot just arbitrarily forgive sins. When humans rebel against God justice must be served. At the same time, God is a merciful God that yearns for people to know Him in genuine relationship.

He desires to repair the breach between Himself and mankind. The core message of the Gospel "Good News" is the reconciliation of mankind to the Heavenly Father through the atonement of the Messiah, the divine

"messenger"and "sacrificial lamb."

Grace is the unmerited, undeserved favor offered by God to the unworthy.

Grace bridges the gap between the justice of God and the mercy of God.

This came at great personal cost to a loving Father. He was willing to offer His own Son so the guilty can be forgiven, so the sin debt can be paid.

In the mystery of the Gospels, grace is a gift from the Divine Father that was fully realized in the sacrifice of the Divine Son. The justice of God, laid upon the innocent (Jesus) so the guilty (Mankind) can be reconciled back to the Father.

LUZ presents revolving exhibitions featuring works by emerging and established artists that the foundation chooses to support for visual, theological, and expressive purposes. These exhibitions will most often be group exhibitions that feature works with a common theme. The exhibitions will generally be curated in-house and have a focus on biblical text and spiritual narrative.
