About this Event
Rukh Art Hub is delighted to opening the night of "VICTIMS OF GRENOUILLE," the solo exhibition by one of the most promising emerging artists in the Ukrainian art scene, Oleksii Shcherbak. Originally from Chernihiv, Oleksii is currently based in Paris where he creates oil paintings that pull the viewer into captivating, ethereal realms reminiscent of grotesque, Victorian-era fairytales.
In his new series, "VICTIMS OF GRENOUILLE," inspired by Patrick Süskind's novel "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer," Oleksii Shcherbak delves into the world of perceptions, memories, and senses triggered by external stimuli. The artist's reflections manifest as a complex interplay of subconscious sensations, where mythical illusions are woven into the character portraits. He documents a multifaceted, reflexive experience of the enigmatic heroes, exploring their stories as a spectator, while at the same time embracing the surreal and existential themes that echo those found in the book.
Join us on April 5th at 6:00 PM at Mriya Gallery for the Opening Soirée of the “VICTIMS OF GRENOUILLE” art show. Don't miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a mysterious Victorian atmosphere in the heart of modern NYC.
