For one night only, experience a brush with Samuel Beckett, his characters, and his words in this entertaining and fast-paced remix from the brilliant Living Room Theatre. Back by popular demand before touring internationally, this is the only chance to see the show again in England.
Featuring 16 of Beckett’s plays, prose pieces, and poems, this intimate two-hander performance plunges audiences into the genius and surreal world of one of literature’s most celebrated writers — both the comic and the tragic.
Whether you are discovering Beckett for the first time or deepening your knowledge of his work, this theatrical showcase is an encounter not to be missed. Performers Sarah White and Philip Robinson embody Beckett’s absurd and tragic characters and their struggle to exist, to remember, and to speak out of silence. This entertaining production is a celebration of trying again, failing again, and failing better.
Running time is approximately 100 minutes including a short interval.
Suitable for ages 12+. Tickets are £10 for library members and £8 for non-members.
This event will take place on the Main Library floor, with accessible toilets nearby.
The Library is fully wheelchair accessible throughout and there will be a designated chill-out space available. A pop-up bar serving soft drinks and alcohol will also be open during the interval.
Brought to you by Living Room Theatre, the team behind the brilliant Washing Machine of Destiny. Performed by Philip Robinson and Sarah White, with words by Samuel Beckett and directed by Nikki Sved.
