America's musical roots take center stage when The Salty Crackers play Laurel Hill Mansion. Experience the sounds of early America with The Salty Crackers as they bring old-time fiddle tunes, string-band traditions, and Appalachian music to historic Laurel Hill Mansion, presented by Women for Greater Philadelphia (WFGP).
Celebrate America's 250th anniversary through the music that helped shape our nation's cultural heritage. The Salty Crackers, a four-member ensemble, Zach Fay — Fiddle, Banjo, Guitar, Vocals, Matt Hiller — Bass Fiddle, Banjo, Kevin James Holland — Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin, Tenor Banjo, and Ian Sigler — Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Vocals, drawn from the Philadelphia-based group The Citywide Specials, long recognized for their popular Thursday evening bluegrass performances. Their repertoire spans early American folk music through the first half of the twentieth century, reflecting the musical traditions that shaped communities across generations. Performed with spirited musicianship and historical authenticity, the program celebrates the enduring legacy of American folk music and its influence on the nation's cultural identity.
Following the concert there will be a gathering on Laurel Hill Mansions back porch with light refreshments where guests will have an opportunity to meet the musicians.
