About this Event
While many people visit Glastonbury for the sights and crystal shops, countless others miss the deeper magic that Avalon truly has to offer — the magic that lives within the land itself. On this immersive day tour, Kubi May invites you to journey beyond the surface, exploring Glastonbury’s sacred sites while forming a living connection with its ancient trees.
As a practising druid and local white witch, Kubi has spent years teaching the Celtic folklore of our ancestors, drawing upon the wisdom of the 20 ancient Ogham trees. As she guides you along hidden woodland paths and beneath the canopy of some of Avalon’s oldest guardians, she shares myth, ritual, and ancestral knowledge through storytelling, guided meditation, herbal wisdom, and gentle foraging practices. You will learn to work with copper dowsing rods to communicate with the trees and craft your own Oak and Hawthorn tinctures to support your spiritual journey long after you leave the sacred Isle of Avalon...
ITINERARY :
11:00am - Glastonbury Abbey
We begin at Glastonbury Abbey, meeting one of the sacred Holy Thorns and exploring the myth of Joseph of Arimathea, who is said to have established the first Christian church here. We will also uncover his connection to Mary Magdalene, whose presence is woven into the goddess energy and heart-centred healing of this land.
From here, we journey to the ruins of the high altar to explore the legend of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere, whose grave was allegedly discovered on this very site. We then connect with an ancient Beech tree, opening ourselves to her deep grandmother wisdom.
By a serene willow beside the lake, we'll meditate with the goddess Cerridwen, guardian of dreamlike realms, before wandering through the apple orchards to learn of the enchantress Morgan le Fay and the mysteries of the Celtic Otherworld....
1:00pm - Wick Hollow to Bulwarks Lane
Along the winding paths of mysterious Wick Hollow, (where many feel Cernunnos the god of the Wild walking beside them), we'll tread beneath some of Avalon’s most enigmatic trees, their ancient roots entwined along ivy grown walls towering either side of us.
2:00pm - Well house Lane to Chalice Well
At Chalice Well, we'll learn about the myth of the Holy Grail and meet our ancestors through the portal of two ancient Yew trees. We’ll invoke the goddess Brigid beneath the Rowan, and learn of the Druids’ shamanic gateway embodied by the Silver Birch. After a picnic lunch, we'll gather spring water from the sacred well to bless the path ahead before continuing our journey.
4pm - Stone Down Lane to Paradise Lane
We'll then ascend to Paradise Lane — a long, living hedgerow with breathtaking views — where Kubi offers guidance in foraging for edible woodland treats and traditional hedge witch remedies.
5:00pm - Over the meadows to Gog and Magog
Our journey concludes in the presence of the most sacred trees of the Druids and the oldest living beings in Avalon — the legendary ancient oaks Gog and Magog, standing for over 1,500 years as guardians of the land.
TOTAL WALKING TIME FOR THE DAY: 1 hour 30 mins with regular breaks.
