Guided by the ancient traditions of North America and
Mexico, each step of the drum-making process is infused
with blessings, sacred herbs, and intention.
With every beat, your drum carries the spirit of the
Earth, becoming a powerful companion on your path of
healing, self-discovery, and remembrance.
Day 1
Intention & Creation
We begin our journey with a morning circle, setting intentions for the creation of our Medicine Drums
and honoring all the elements involved — wood, animal skin, water, and spirit.
Together, we work mindfully, offering gratitude for everything that supports this sacred process.
THIS DAY INCLUDES
Painting and preparing
the wooden frames
Cutting and adjusting
the animal skins
Wrapping and tying
the drums together
Finishing the drums
and allowing them to dry
Day 2
Personalization
& Ceremony
Day two is dedicated to personalizing your
drumsticks and deepening your connection
with your drum.
You will work with stones, leather, paint, beads,
and natural materials to reflect your unique
essence and intention.
Each creation becomes a mirror of your inner
rhythm.
BRINGING THE DRUM TO LIFE
We celebrate the completion of our
drums through a sacred drum-breathing
ceremony.
This ritual marks the moment your
drum is brought to life — strengthening
your bond with it and honoring the
shared journey of creation, presence,
and intention.
THIS CEREMONY INCLUDES:
• A shamanic drum initiation
• Aligning your drumming with your heart
• Teachings of traditional medicine songs
NIKETA CANALES
FOUNDER OF SACRED RHYTHMS
Niketa has traveled across North and South America,
studying ancestral medicines from Mexico, Peru,
and beyond.
With over 19 years of experience and a deep personal
healing journey, her path has been shaped by learning
from Earth elders and ancient traditions.
Through rhythm, sound, and ceremony, Niketa guides
people back to themselves — into harmony with
the Earth.
She teaches North American drum building, sound
therapy, and cultural arts, and holds ceremonial spaces
including sweat lodges and ancestral rituals.
