THE RULE (Documentary, 2014, 86 min.) The Nutley Public Library is pleased to welcome back ECLAP-funded, Emmy-nominated, award-winning filmmakers Marylou & Jerome Bongiorno. The duo, who speak at global and local venues, will screen and discuss THE RULE with special guests: writer and educator Stephen G. Adubato as moderator, and the Senior Group Leaders of both the Boys and Girls Prep Divisions at St. Benedict’s Prep. Discover how Benedictine monks in Newark are defying the odds. In the heart of one of America's most challenging cities, this film reveals how a 6th-century Rule of Saint Benedict acts as a modern, transformative "recipe for success" for vulnerable inner-city youth, offering a proven model for education worldwide.
No registration is required. Light refreshment will be served. Screening will be held on the 2nd Floor of the Library and will begin at 6:00 p.m.
This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts / Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.
