The Roundtable Conversation: Small-Group Networking for Experts
About this Event
The Roundtable Conversation is a facilitated small-group networking event where experts connect through deeper conversations about business and professional growth.
Topic of Discussion: Positioning for Presence
What do you want to be known for?
You may be good at several things.
But when someone asks what you do, your answer becomes long. You list your services. You explain your experience. You hope they understand what makes you different.
Often, they do not.
This is a common problem for professional service providers: consultants, coaches, trainers, designers, etc.
When your positioning is unclear, people may respect your experience but still struggle to remember you, describe you or refer the right opportunities to you.
You may also hesitate to choose one clear position because it feels limiting. Or you may feel uncomfortable calling yourself an expert, even after years of doing the work.
This roundtable conversation will explore questions such as:
- What should you lead with?
- How specific should your positioning be?
- What do you want people to remember about you?
- What is stopping you from claiming that space?
You can also bring your own positioning challenge to the table. Participants will have the opportunity to raise issues they are facing and explore them with the group.
The conversation will be facilitated by Dean Shams, a brand positioning strategist with 20 years of experience in PR, media relations and helping professionals become known for their expertise.
This is not a seminar or presentation. You will take part in a guided conversation with other professionals, hear how they are dealing with the same challenge and gain outside perspectives on your own positioning.
Seats are limited to around 10 people so everyone has time to speak, think and connect meaningfully.
